Granny Triangle

Hello Friends...Not too much time to pick up the hook over the Easter weekend, but I did manage to find a few minutes to play around. I've become a little obsessed lately with crochet triangle shawls. There are so may great patterns out there, but something I've always wanted to try was a granny triangle.  Check it out with just a few rows below...keep going on this and it'll turn into a beautiful and cozy shawl.  It's also amazingly simple to make, by the way, and with chunky weight yarn, it will whip up in no time.

  1. On a blanket pattern you have it says to "simply chain a multiple of 3+2 sts" to make it bigger and I have no idea what that means and have tried to figure it out with google search and it just doesn't make sense to me. Can you decipher that for me? This was for a baby blanket.

    Thank you. Kathryn

  2. Hi Kathryn, you chain a number of chains that are divisible by 3, then add 2 chain stitches at the end. The easiest way to do this is when you are doing your chain, count 1,2,3 over and over until you reach your desired width, then add 2 more chains. Hope that helps.
